What is SAM?
SAM (System Access Management) is a comprehensive role-based access governance system that manages, controls and optimizes system access rights across your organization. It allows you to quickly implement your company's unique access policy while meeting regulatory compliance and audit requirements. 

The SAM solution includes all of the following, right out of the box:

• Role Manager: Lets your managers create employee roles that clearly specify the resources and levels of access that are associated with each role. The roles are properly organized and automatically enforced once all interested parties have approved them.
• Access Request Manager: Provides a user friendly, self-service tool for employees to request access to the company's resources while monitoring the approval process which grants and provisions the access. The Access Request Manager easily handles new employees as well as employee terminations, promotions, transfers and other changes.
• Compliance Manager: Maintains a central repository of entitlements so that your Information Security and Compliance teams can respond, in real-time, to inquiries about "who has access to what". In addition, it provides certification reports so that managers can quickly and easily complete their attestations.

Interface with Active Directory (AD)
SAM provides a direct interface with Microsoft’s Active Directory. SAM electronically feeds entitlement information into AD. It also automates the certification of entitlements by comparing the SAM database with the Groups and Users of Active Directory.
