Press Release: Credit union anticipates paperless technology will save more than $200,000
LINDEN, N.J., September 22, 2008— Integrated Media Management® (IMM), a document output management and automation technology provider, today announced that Las Vegas-based Nevada Federal Credit Union has deployed its TotaleAtlas and TotaleReceipts products. The paperless technology provides Nevada FCU with the ability to better serve its more than 83,000 members.
"Paper and toner cartridges are huge expenses," said Pete Jenkins, SVP of administrative services for Nevada Federal Credit Union. "While we had begun recycling some of our supplies, IMM's software products have already decreased our usage of paper and ink within our credit union. We are now furthering our green efforts while also automating the transaction process for more efficient operations and, ultimately, improving member service. Once all 23 of our branches are live with IMM's solutions, we anticipate seeing a reduction of more than $200,000 a year in paper, courier expenses, document storage and staffing."
Nevada FCU selected IMM's technology based on several current clients' recommendations, as well as the fact that its core processor was already integrated into the solutions. The credit union has implemented TotaleAtlas, a document preparation engine that electronically captures signatures in-branch and creates a secure and non-editable PDF of the document with the signature embedded; and TotaleReceipts, which eliminates the need for pre-printed paper receipts by automating the output of teller transaction receipts. Both TotaleAtlas and TotaleReceipts eliminate the manual scanning, indexing, storing and retrieving of documents.
Nevada FCU continues to increase its efforts to become a more eco-friendly institution. According to the credit union, in 2007, it recycled more than 83 tons of paper documents that helped save 1,414 trees, 581,000 gallons of water, 33,200 kilowatts of energy, 7,470 cubic feet of landfill space and 8,300 gallons of gasoline. Additionally, depleted ink cartridges are donated to a local school district for recycling.
Jenkins continued, "Another savings, that IMM's products provide us, is time. Receipts now go directly into our system in seconds, there is no more printing, scanning and later searching for paper documents. The user-friendly search options that IMM provides also helps the auditing process and our accounting department has become very efficient. We're saving money, trees and providing our members with top-quality service."
"Today, credit unions want to offer optimal technology solutions for their members and also save the planet by ensuring products and their efforts are eco-friendly," said Chuck Klein, CEO of Integrated Media Management. "By selecting TotaleAtlas and TotaleReceipts, Nevada FCU accomplishes both goals. These products help financial institutions of all sizes electronically streamline what have historically been paper-based processes, automating the process between their host processor and imaging platform."
