Press Release: Paperless technology allows credit union to reduce costs and increase efficiency
LINDEN, N.J., Aug. 28, 2007— Integrated Media Management® (IMM), which specializes in output management and document automation technology, announced the implementation of TotaleChecks for North Highlands, Calif.-based SAFE Credit Union. The paperless technology that TotaleChecks provides will help SAFE Credit Union to better serve its 20 branches and 120,000 members.
TotaleChecks is part of IMM's TotaleWorks suite of software products for document output and signature capture. The suite also includes TotaleAtlas and TotaleReceipts. TotaleChecks is server-based software that seamlessly integrates with the credit union's host system to print online and batch institution official checks on blank security stock paper. This innovative software has allowed credit unions across the country to eliminate the storage and security issues associated with preprinted checks.
"We were looking for ways to use paperless technology to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and after learning how TotaleChecks works with our host system, we felt that it was the best solution for our credit union," said Kathleen Harless, assistant vice president of operations for SAFE Credit Union. "The implementation with IMM was very easy. There was no need for training because the process was so simple and fit seamlessly with our employee procedures."
Since implementation, SAFE CU has eliminated the purchase of preprinted check stock, which will result in annual savings of approximately $10,000.
SAFE CU has also reduced the number of hours full time employees spend completing tasks associated with purchasing and managing preprinted checks and then distributing them to their branches. Prior to implementing TotaleChecks, the credit union used a dual control method to secure the preprinted checks in a vault. Now, that time can be reallocated.
"More than anything, we save time and money," Harless continued. "I think that there will see a full ROI in three years, not including the full time employee hours that we are saving, which by itself is already a huge benefit. In terms of our members, the checks are printed accurately and efficiently due to this great technology."
"At IMM, we are dedicated to creating products that enhance the credit union experience for both the employees and members," Chuck Klein, CEO at Integrated Media Management, added. "TotaleWorks enables our customers to improve member service and at the same time increase efficiencies and reduce operating costs. We truly value our customers. That's why we are so committed to developing products that improves the credit union experience."
