Five Credit Unions Select IMM's Teller Item Capture
04/02/2008
Press Release: Technology performs all Check 21 features
LINDEN, N.J., Apr. 2, 2008— Integrated Media Management® (IMM), a document output management and automation technology provider, announced today that five credit unions have contracted with the company for its teller item capture product. Naperville, Ill.-based DuPage Credit Union; Parchment, Mich.-based First Community Federal Credit Union; Philadelphia-based Police & Fire Credit Union; Flint, Mich.-based Security Federal Credit Union and Burnsville, Minn.-based US Federal Credit Union which are all in various stages of implementing the solution.
Debbie Lange, SVP of support services for DuPage Credit Union, shared, "We have been researching vendors over the past year to determine how best to transition to Check 21. Once we decided to implement teller item capture, our search was narrowed to vendors offering solutions especially for the credit union industry. We felt that IMM had the best overall solution that met our business needs. Additionally, IMM is working with our core data processor to provide seamless integration, which was an important factor in our decision making process."
IMM's teller item capture provides real-time check capture at the teller line. It is seamlessly interfaced on the front end with the core teller platform and on the back end where checks are embedded into an indexed PDF that includes the receipt and member identification. Teller item capture creates an electronic cash letter for electronic distribution to the Federal Reserve Bank, corporate credit union or other endpoints.
"We are confident that IMM's teller item capture will meet our goals for DuPage," continued Lange. "This product will enhance both front and back office operating efficiencies by reducing courier costs for transporting the checks; eliminate the need to have a team member encode checks; minimize the potential risk of losing checks while in transit; and assist us in finding out if a check is being returned before a loss occurs at the credit union. Our objective is to have at least one of our branches, if not all, up and running with IMM's teller item capture by the fourth quarter."
"From the beginning IMM has focused on solutions for credit union's that help them to increase efficiency, improve member service and reduce cost," said Chuck Klein, CEO of IMM. "Our teller item capture achieves all of these objectives by eliminating the back office process and expediting the teller transaction, allowing more time for tellers to serve members in other ways. It's a win for the credit union and a win for their members."
